Aretian was pleased to participate in the AMS Scientific Conference 2026, contributing to key discussions on the future of cities, infrastructure, and sustainability.

Our CEO and Co-Founder Ramon Gras Alomà and Bernat Salbanyà-Rovira presented ‘Energy Transition: Towards a Just Transition’, a new research exploring how the morphology of electric distribution networks shapes energy efficiency, consumption, and equity across the U.S. Northeast.

Our findings show that:
- Energy systems that are more distributed tend to use energy more efficiently
- When infrastructure is more irregular and disordered, electricity tends to cost more, especially impacting vulnerable communities
- How we design infrastructure is not just a technical issue. It also shapes fairness, resilience, and overall performance in the energy transition

A big thank you to Stephan van Dijk, Zwanet Van Lubek, and Eveline Van Leeuwen for inviting me to participate in the event. We were glad to engage with researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders around more efficient, equitable, and data-driven energy systems.
